Happy Saturday. I am working on some major edits and doing some more photos of my beautiful sisters and just a little message for all the teens out there. I wish I had learned this lesson at a much earlier age.

Reminders can be annoying some times or distracting but have you ever had great reminders? The ones that change something inside of you?

As Wedding Season for me is trickling down and I am starting to prep the kids for the school year, I am also restructuring many things in my personal life and business life.

Some times we need to take a step back to look at the bigger picture and to see if what we are doing is aligning with our core. In this journey called life it is so easy to get sucked in and to get distracted and to limit our selves with our circumstances. I have been challenged to have a mind shift and to see opportunity and creativity with in my boundaries and limitations and to stop using limitations as crutches to not live the life I want to live.

I had two absolute great reminders this week by two wonderful people.

One was my my friend and wedding planner Ingrid Williams who said to me ” Stop Limiting God in your life”

and the second was from a long deep coffee chat with the wonderful talented NJ photographer Ahmet Ze, he said many things that touched me but one of them was

” Fame comes and goes but good work always stays” . We are discussing the need to do great work for not only our clients but for us. And how fame, having social media followers does not matter because all of that goes away but great work, well artwork stays. He also spoke heavily on doing personal projects of which I agree and will be starting some personal photography projects.

Over all it has been already a great week and I am excited about this journey called life and the road I am on.

I’ve had this thought brewing in my head the last few days… you do not need a fancy website or the perfect equipment or the perfect ANYTHING to do what matters. You don’t need to have all of your ducks perfectly in a row (where did that phrase come from anyway?!). You don’t need to know exactly how each step of your dream will unfold. To start making things happen, you just have to DO. This is a giant note to self. I can obsess about “perfect” and I always end up realizing that DONE is way better than perfect. Chasing perfect is paralyzing. Love DOES. You know all those things you’ve always wanted to do? You should go DO them. You will make mistakes. You will “fail”. But, the risk is worth the reward, right? For me, risking for what matters ends up being no risk at all. The greater risk is staying stuck and not making the impact that I know I am capable of and called to make. We ALL have greatness inside of us waiting to be released. Go and DO. - Lara
